M800 delayed again.

After some reports of chipping paint on M800, Eten has delayed shippings to February 22, accoring to Eten Webshop and Expansys). I hope you were not among those ordering your M800 from the be belgian webshop and I really do not understand how they got hold of these M800. I really hope that this delay means that we will get the final version of M800 problem-free and with a working ROM which will not need weekly flashing, as it used to be with X500 and older models.

Eten Glofiish M800 postponed to January

Due dates for long-awaited Eten Glofiish M800 - a 3G phone with full qwerty keyboard has been changes to January 25th in online shops. This leaves Glofiish lovers with the 2 options for this holiday season: X800 or X600. I personally prefer a slicker solution without keyboard as my fingers seem to be too big for these small keys, so X800 is the best choice, at least for me.

It looks like Eten decided not to release a beta-version of the product this time and hope that we eill get a fully functional device in January.

Where to buy Glofiish X600, X800 and M800?

Now, when all the new Glofiish devices have appeared in online stores it is not so easy to decide where to buy it as all the shops offer different services and pricing structure when you go into details. I've order mine from Eten Webshop, because they are offering free delivery to my country, and will give a free 1GB microSD card. They are now offering all the 3 new models, here are the links, so you can take a look at their offer:

If you know of a good offer in your country, please comment here, so we can share information.

New Glofiish website is up

Eten Corp. has launched a new version of Glofiish website, which is in my opinion is overloaded with Flash - nice for a presentation but not really useful for information. It has a new "Support" section with FAQ, but I could not make it work under the Firefox, please let me know if it works under IE.

The most interesting surprise is that it only has info on X800 and X600, no word of M800. As M800 is confirmed by FCC it is real, so it's not clear why Eten Corp decided not to put it online this time.

Eten Glofiish M800 FCC reports and users manual available for download

FCC has approved Glofiish M800 so it should be available soon in the US market. As you an see on the pics E-ten did not change the headset, it's still the old and ugly one, but I do hope that the final version will have something more decent. Here is the link to the reports and direct link to the users manual.

E-ten Glofiish M800 pictures are fake!

As we have reported in our previous post, a dutch website has published pics and specs of upcoming E-ten Glofiish M800, but after looking carefully at the picture you will see that it is an exact copy of X500 with added camera on top and a joystick. It looks like our dutch friends joked the world and the world has picked it up. There are already over 200 links to the post including well known websites like msmobiles.com and engadet.com.

UPDATE: We got more pics of M800 now and these look real!

Eten Glofiish M800 coming? Well, sort of...

A dutch website has published photos and specs of forthcoming Glofiish M800 - a 3G device with full Qwerty keyboard:
Here is the translated version

Specs are almost the same as X800:

  • 500 MHz Samsung processor
  • 256 MB ROM
  • 2 cameras
  • VGA display
  • Windows Mobile 6 Professional (i.e. Windows Mobile 6 for touch-screens)
  • HSDPA / UMTS
  • SiRFstar III GPS chip
  • 1530 mAh battery
  • available since November 2007
  • expected price: 599 to 629 Euro
  • standard 2.5 mm stereo headset connector (instead of prioprietary one used in HTC phones)

Well, looks like a nice device and I like this design much better than the X800 one, how about you?
